Summer Attractions
Hara Village bustles with many people in the summer months. At an elevation of 1,000 m, humidity on the plateau is low, and visitors are pleasantly surprised by the comfortable climate. A variety of events includ-ing music concerts and star viewing events are held in grassy and woodland areas. More active pursuits such as hiking and mountain climbing are also recommended. Let’s enjoy the pleasant summer season
while staying in a local pension (western-style guesthouse).
Mt.Amidadake
The 2,805-meter summit of Mt. Amida is the highest point in Hara Village and offers views over most of the Japan Alps mountain range. Mt. Fuji stands in dignified majesty, and the fatigue of climbing is blown from our bodies.
Hara Village Star Festival in the Summer Holidays
For three days each year, from the first Friday of August until the following Sunday, astronomy fans from all over the country gather for the star festival. The festival is held in Hara Village precisely because the stars appear truly beautiful here.
